"In this series of self portraits I represent the physical, psychological and emotional weight that sight loss has had on my life.The focus of this work is not only to illustrate physical vision loss, but also an inner journey involving my fears and emotions about becoming totally blind. This is a journey towards infinite darkness in which physical sight is diminished and obscured but artistic vision, my blind vision, is enhanced. I use the experience of blindness to expand my conceptual expression within the visual realm. Blind Vision illustrates a synergy of the physical (corporeal) experience framed within the context of a metaphysical journey to form a unique vision beyond sight."

Seeing with Photography Collective

A group of blind artists based in New York, this portrait was made by the group using an updated form of a pinhole camera. The technique is simple: a pinhole camera in a dark room projects an image of an illuminated subject onto braille-punched paper and a digital camera is used to capture the result.

盲人如何感知世界

顏色/距離的概念

“我连白色是什么都不知道,又怎么知道什么是黑暗的世界呢?”

视觉经验和生活常识,让我省去了盲人掌握相机和建立摄影基本概念时遇到的麻烦。但我有他们没有的麻烦,当所有的影像在眼前消失,我的脑子也一片空白,这才发现我原来的拍摄冲动都是由影像引发的灵感。


構想

主角和其他人/環境間的距離 - 復明後愈來愈遠?
(例如:每一場用愈來愈廣的鏡頭(客觀鏡頭))

用聽覺時-真實-normal len
用視覺時(面對光源/顏色)-放大/壓迫-tile len
用視覺時(和其他人)-抽離 - wide len

可參考《The Aviator》及《Shutter Island》中高光對主角影響的一場;片段後補

構想2

-客觀鏡頭利用每一場愈來愈wide的鏡頭去透視出主角和環境愈來愈遠的距離

-主角POV e.g. 第一場讓觀眾代入主角情緒,從聲音、對白能清楚身邊的人。但主角主觀不能分析朋友/醫生的臉,可以利用怪異的角度和cropping 去拍攝朋友A/B/C/阿明的臉,及可嘗試用fog filter對高光的效果加多「不適應」的感覺;也可利用out focu的效果



-顏色希望利用藍、灰、白去作主調
